Workshops

Teach the Teachers.

Equipping educators with tools to integrate art into the classroom.

What are Teach the Teacher Workshops?

We offer workshops for teachers on topics such as: techniques for using materials, how to utilize a sketchbook to deepen learning, working in three-dimensions with clay, and 20-minute art projects.

These two-hour workshops are engaging and impactful. Attendees spend the majority of time with hands-on learning. We provide attendees with age-appropriate art lessons to implement right away.

Who Should Attend a Workshop?

Comfortable with art or not, it doesn’t matter. Any and all teachers, para professionals, parent volunteers and educators are invited to attend. The more, the merrier.

When educators are committed to doing art in class, more students will be impacted. If we need to add dates to our workshops, we will.

Why Should I Attend a Workshop?

To meet and learn alongside like-minded educators and earn two professional clock hours for the time spent at the Graphite Arts Center.

And, to meet artists and people who want to make an impact on your community.

“These workshops have been absolutely amazing. It’s so great that you’re offering this to the teachers and the kids in the district. Thank you for all of the effort and time you each put in. Your passion is contagious and you’ve made techniques that used to seem out of reach seem attainable. Thank you!”
Andrea Hartgraves, Maplewood Elementary, 2nd grade

“This entire workshop was so worth my time. I left with valuable tools and ideas to use immediately with my classroom. The concrete ideas for exactly how to introduce and use sketchbooks was valuable.”
Chauntae Kukowski, Chase Lake Elementary, 3rd grade
